Playful Paws - How it all started

In Playful Paws, we believe early education is as important for a human child as it is to a canine. Early education helps in building basic foundation, shaping characters and socialization skills as to ensure the puppy grows up with a pleasant, likeable personality.

Only through educations, then we are able to reduce the number of abandon dogs in shelter due to bad temperament.

Studying in Melbourne’s most prestige dog trainers school confirms our believe. The experience gained in observing puppy matured into a young adult dog always feels so good. Especially seeing how stable the young dog has become, all thanks to the 4 weeks early puppy training and conditioning he had when he was 8 weeks old. And also observing adult dog’s transformation from untamed to an obedience little angel after 8 weeks was so encouraging, the stubbornness and unwilling to corporate attitude now out of the window.

In those observation classes, it helped in identifying fault leash works often made by dog owners. Dogs were often confused by owners, such as giving commands either in a repetition manner or in a monotonous voice, and owners not concentrating on their dogs and anticipating the reaction of dogs thus allowing dog to make the exact same mistakes repeatedly. It only shows how quickly a dog learns depend very much how their owner masters the art of training.

Not forgetting Blue Cross, a non-profit “No Kill to Low Kill” policy dog shelter, provided a great platform in handling wide variety of dogs ranging from cross breed, pure breed, big and small size dogs.

Husbandary work in Dog Zone provides a good insight how dogs socialize, communicate & learning bad habits from another dog. Unfortunate event happened, a dog died of heart attack as he happily ate one big chocolate cake with chocolate icing all by himself the night before going to Dog zone Day Care. My heart goes to the owner …

Playful Paws would like to thank Mr Basil Theofanides from DTA for his unselfish teaching and guidance.
